The Problem: ZJS represented a coalition of businesses concerned about the health impacts to workers caused by the spray-on pick-up truck bed liner industry.
Our Role: The firm suggested the National Institute of Health and Occupational Safety (NIOSH), an arm of the US Department of Health and Human Services, investigate and report on the occurrences of respiratory ailments and death caused by chemicals used in the spray-on bed liner process.
The Result: Through our extensive experience in government affairs, within just three years NIOSH issued a National Health Alert that created new guidelines regulating the industry, saving many lives and reducing serious injury to workers. NIOSH credited ZJS with bringing the issue to the government’s attention, pushing the agency to respond, and shearing the matter over three years.
